The St. Francis de Sales Association proudly introduced phase 1 of our new public website, most appropriately on the Feast Day of St. Francis de Sales, January 24, 2009. On the feast day of the Immaculate Conception December 8, 2009, phase 2 a private side for associates only, was added. Both are a new beginning and culmination of the work of many to achieve our goal "to open the doors of Madame Carre de Malberg's parlor to the world"!
Notes About The New Site
Most of the content on this site is taken directly from readily available materials of the association, so for associates much of it will be familiar. Don't miss the letter by John Paul II on the use of the Internet for Evangelization, which explain some of the rationale behind the creation of this website. Those associates looking for something new may find it in perusing the Resources' page links to other websites. Many of these websites have so much to offer, you may find time slips away from you as you continue to explore the unending possibilities. However please be aware that such links to other sites are not owned or controlled by the St. Francis de Sales Association. While linked sites are chosen carefully for the benefit of our membership, the association is not responsible for the content or privacy practices of such other sites. Remember link addresses and content frequently change and are beyond our control, please let the webmaster know if you find any outdated or no longer functioning. We encourage you to be aware when you leave our site (your address bar will no longer contain www.sfdsassociation.org) and in such circumstances should you wish to return to this website use the browser's "back" arrow in the upper left hand corner of your screen; otherwise, you may choose to re-start your session.
Phase 2 of the website was the introduction of a "private" side for associates, only. It requires a username and password to log-in. These are issued by the association, please contact your group directress or regional to acquire this access. If you experience trouble using your log-in and password, just send a brief email to the webmaster to resolve it. When you reach the private site, colors will change and a welcome message appears. Content includes: Statutes and Interior Rule, Leadership Contacts, National Council and Service Team news, "Bond" archives, a Mission Auxiliary page, SMMI news, a Friends' page, Group pages, a comprehensive Salesian bibliography, a forum for prayer requests and more.
We are now in Phase 3, with a Discussion Forum available to discuss the current probation and to provide feedback to the National Council and/or our Service Teams, many probations are now available online, and regional reporters are starting to submit news while groups can claim their own group pages. Still to come are plans for application forms and registration for events to be available online with more , leadership formation materials and meeting guidelines for group directors.
Improvements to the site will be ongoing. Contact the webmaster with your feedback, suggestions, and submissions to ensure the vitality of the site and the association's future. Rest assured that a privacy policy is in place and will be followed. Remember to refer family, friends and prospective aspirants here: www.sfdsassociation.org.
